How can I fix this computer freezing problem?
For the past three days, My computer has been freezing up. Not letting me open anything it just stops. I only checked for viruses the day before, and there was nothing. I need some steps on how to fix this problem.
It looks like you have too many background programs running. Open up the run box and type in msconfig. on the startup tab, uncheck the programs you dont need and restart. you can also uninstall them.

Maybe the Hard disk of your computer is full. If your computer is connected to internet try always to delete temporarily internet files.
Try to defrag your computer. For windows XP. Go to "My Computer">Right click on the local disk C(or which ever the one you have save the installed Operating System)> Click the Properties>Click Tools>Click the defragment now button. Wait until defragment finished. Restart your computer and check if still freezing.
If this not work maybe you need to upgrade your RAM or processor.

Try fixing the Windows registry. The registry is frequently a major cause of computer freezing problems. When the registry is corrupted the computer cannot properly process information. When a computer cannot “compute”, it freezes up. Scan your system and check for any errors. Get a free scan at:
