If your registry is screwed up and you cant boot into any mode (safe mode or normal). They best way to make sure its correctly resolved is to format and reload. You might be able to remove your hard drive and read it on another machine with an adapter to back up you data. If not you’ll loose it all when you format. Its wierd for an anti-virus to even mess with a registry. Usually they are left anlone unless you use a dedicated registry cleaner or app. I would consider a different Anti-Virus if thats the case. Something like McAfee.

Without knowing more about your computer you can try this. Unplug the computer from the wall. If it is a laptop you may have to remove the battery. Leave it off for about five minutes. Make sure that there are no floppies, CDs, DVDs, or external drives attached. Replace the battery or plug the power cord back in. Turn on the power. Immediately press F8, before Windows trys to start. You may have to try it a few times to get your timing right. This may allow your computer to start in "Safe Mode". If it does you should be able to use "System Restore" to a date when it worked properly. Why do you think a anti virus deleted a registry file? Very unusual! Good Luck
