Why does my computer keep freezing when I play online games? And how do I fix it?
No matter what online game site I go to, my computer freezes up while I’m in the middle of playing. What can I do to stop this?
Freezing of the computer during any games can be related to several things. This is by far NOT a complete list.
First – and most simple:
1. Click START
2. Click RUN
3. Type chkdsk /F in the RUN box – Press Enter
4. A black command window will open and state it cannot lock the drive. It will ask if you want chkdsk to run on the next start up. Press Y for yes; the window will then close
5. Reboot the computer and let it reboot. It will begin to check the hard drive for error. Let it complete, but be aware it can take a while to complete.
6. After it makes repairs, the computer will reboot as normal. try your games again.
Another thing to do is check with the PC maker for updated Video, Sound, and Chipset drivers.
If there are updates, install the Chipset drivers first, then sound, then Video, REBOOT between each install!
Unfortunately, without any more information concerning when the computer locks up, do you get repeating sound when it does this? Does everything on the screen freeze, etc. Also, computer specifications are also necessary to make a better diagnosis.
A trip to a local PC repair shop for a full diagnosis may be in order if the above listed doesn’t help.

szystem specs and any error codes might help.

you might not have sufficient RAM (random access memory) to run these games. if you have an older computer this might be the case. you can upgrade your RAM by taking it into a computer upgrade shop or simply buy a new, better computer.
